Honor GT Pro: The Next-Level Gaming Flagship from Honor

Honor is preparing to elevate its GT smartphone lineup with the upcoming Honor GT Pro, a premium gaming-focused flagship. Following the successful launch of the Honor GT in China in December 2024, the Pro variant promises notable improvements in design, performance, and user experience.

While the exact launch date remains undisclosed, official teasers and leaks shared by Honor GT series product manager Charlie Du on Weibo have revealed substantial information about the device.

According to the executive, the Honor GT Pro will be a "powerful flagship" device and will be positioned two levels higher than the standard Honor GT model. This clearly suggests a significant upgrade in hardware and features — and likely a higher price point.

Sleek, Premium Design

One of the first things to note about the Honor GT Pro is its flat AMOLED display with a centrally located punch-hole camera. The screen will boast a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring ultra-smooth visuals — a key feature for mobile gamers.

The 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, embedded under the display, offers enhanced biometric security and faster recognition compared to traditional optical sensors.

The device will feature Rhino Glass protection for added durability, and a metal middle frame, contributing to its premium in-hand feel.

Performance and Gaming Prowess

At the core of the Honor GT Pro will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, an upgraded version of Qualcomm’s flagship chipset. This will likely provide an edge in graphics rendering, power efficiency, and thermal performance.

Complementing the processor will be LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which are among the fastest memory and storage technologies available. This combination will ensure rapid app loading, smooth multitasking, and faster file transfers.

The phone is also confirmed to support dual-band GPS and triple-band Beidou, offering ultra-precise location tracking, essential for competitive gaming and navigation.

Immersive Display and Audio

Like the original GT, the Honor GT Pro will sport the Oasis polarised eye protection screen. This AMOLED panel is specially designed to reduce eye strain during prolonged use — a feature aimed squarely at gamers and content consumers.

Moreover, the Pro variant will be equipped with 1216 symmetrical dual stereo speakers, similar to those found on the Honor Magic 7 series. These will provide a loud, immersive, and balanced audio experience, perfect for media consumption and gaming.

System and Interface

Running on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, the Honor GT Pro will come with Honor’s latest software enhancements, designed to optimize performance, enhance visuals, and offer deep customization options.

The OS is expected to support game acceleration modes, improved multitasking tools, and smart battery management — ideal for demanding users.

Comparison with Honor GT

The standard Honor GT, launched at CNY 2,199 (~₹25,000), features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 3,840Hz PWM dimming, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and up to 16GB RAM + 1TB storage.

It also offers a 50MP dual rear camera, 16MP front camera, IP65 rating, and a 5,300mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

The Honor GT Pro aims to surpass all these specifications, offering better build quality, faster hardware, and more gamer-centric features.
